Privacy Policy

Overview

JobsPilot (also associated with Data Study Guide) helps you prepare resumes, check ATS fit, discover roles, and track applications. This policy describes the personal data we handle in that product. It is written in plain language and is not a substitute for formal legal advice.

Information we collect

• Account data — username, email address, password (stored securely when you register with email), and related account settings.
• Profile and preferences — job search preferences, skills, education, experience details, and other profile fields you choose to provide.
• Resumes and application content — resumes you upload or generate, job descriptions you paste, ATS check inputs, and related generation history.
• Google Sign-In — if you sign in with Google, we receive basic identity information from Google (such as your name, email, and a unique Google account identifier) as permitted by Google’s policies and your Google account settings. We do not receive your Google password.
• Usage and technical data — approximate logs needed to operate the service (for example, request timing, errors, and browser/device information).
• Feedback — messages you send through our feedback form.

Cookies and sessions

We use cookies and similar session technology to keep you signed in, protect against cross-site request forgery, and remember essential preferences. These are required for the product to work securely. We do not use them to sell advertising profiles.

How we use your information

• Create and manage your account and authenticated sessions.
• Generate and refine resumes, run ATS-oriented feedback, and show job discovery or tracking features you request.
• Improve reliability, fix bugs, and respond to feedback or support requests.
• Protect the service against abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.

Third-party services

Some features rely on external providers. Content you submit for resume generation or ATS analysis may be processed by AI providers such as OpenAI (or compatible model APIs we configure) solely to deliver those features. Google processes authentication when you use Google Sign-In. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process data as needed to run the site. We do not sell your personal information.

Retention

We keep account, profile, resume, and related records while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for security, backups, legal obligations, or dispute resolution. You may request deletion of account-related data through the feedback channels below; we will process requests where feasible and required by applicable law.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can update much of your profile information in-product. You can stop using Google Sign-In by using another sign-in method where available, or by closing your account. For privacy requests, contact us via the feedback form linked below.

Children

JobsPilot is intended for students and job seekers who can form a valid account under applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). If you believe a child has provided data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of JobsPilot after an update means you accept the revised policy, where permitted by law.
